Products

Instruments carried by GOES generate many data products and provide several services to the science community, meteorologists, and the public.

The GOES products include:

  • The commonly seen images produced by the Imager and Sounder

  • Data from the SEM that is transmitted and processed by the Space Environment Center (SEC) in Boulder, Colorado

  • Information gathered by data collection platforms

  • Text, images, and graphics transmitted by Emergency Managers Weather Information
    Network (EMWIN)

  • Data transmitted through the Low Rate Information Transmission (LRIT)/Weather Facsimile (WEFAX) system

  • Search and Rescue services
